This is the second of my reviews about the multitude of t-shirt reconstruction books out there. Tease: Inspired T-shirt Transformations by Superstars of Art, Craft, and Design by Sarah Sockit has been out for awhile, so some of you may have picked it already, but you haven’t you should definitely consider finding a copy. What sets this book apart from all the others on a similar theme is definitely the ’superstars’ part of the title. The patterns in the book are all designed by successful and popular crafters and designers like the guys from Fred Flare, Debbie Stoller, Leah Kramer, Jenny Hart, Sarah Neuburger, Todd Oldham, Amy Sedaris, and about forty more cool people. The projects, accordingly, are of high quality, and with lots of creativity and diversity.

The other important thing to know is that this isn’t really an introductory instructional book about basic t-shirt reconstruction, it’s more a book about lots of creative things you can make from t-shirt material, like the eye burrito, lampshade, ping pong ball necklace, a covered box, hanging banners, pillows, chair covers, aprons, rugs…. you get the idea. However, there are also some cute shirt designs using embellishment like applique, embroidery, beading and silkscreening. My two favorites are the vintage bib tee, and the cute and curvy tee.

The book has lots of great photos of models wearing the finished products, which makes the book beautiful to flip through. I haven’t tried any of the projects, so I can’t vouch for the instructions, but they look pretty well written, most have at least one or two diagrams.
A fun book for sure, pretty to look at, amazing contributors, and interesting and unusual project ideas.
