I’ve been admiring the ‘Vintage Vandals’ exhibit online at the Wurst Gallery for awhile now. Some of the pieces are brilliant, like this one by Driscoll Reid.

I cannot bring myself to modify my thrift store art finds for fear I’d ruin them, but I have been collecting some. My vision is to have a whole wall covered in bad paintings. I’ve got a few collected in my closet, but until I have the whole wall, this is the only one allowed out in public:

Also, check out the winners of craftster’s thrift store art revamp challenge. I’m partial to the velvet painting handbag!

Wow, I love the monsters. I totally wouldn’t have the guts to try that, unless I thrifted the painting for *really* cheap!

I love those monsters too! With my luck I’d probably ruin a lost masterpiece if I tried it though…

I have this AWESOME set of paint by numbers that my grandfather painted. They’re too special to re-do. But they’re also nice enough too hang.
Kinda like technicolour Bambi backgrounds or something. Kitschy, brightly coloured and perfect for my living room. I should post pictures sometime.
