I have seen some omiyage before a long time ago, on craftster and at wee wonderfuls, but I had forgotten all about it. Then I found this omiyage book by accident at my library. It is so beautiful.
I’m not sure how difficult it will be to follow the instructions, but I am very excited to try to make some of the cute little purses. The illustrations have such beautiful fabrics too.
Too bad I left all my quilting scraps in storage when we moved! Now I have to fight the urge to run out to a quilting store and buy new fabric. Maybe I will try to practice on some regular fabric scraps first.

That’s the book I found at the library too. That’s where I found the pattern for the little paperweight girl. It’s such a beautiful book!

i have this book. its great. some of my creations are in that post on craftster. i have also since bought two of her other books. one called “folded flowers” and “flower origami”…
can you tell i should be writing a paper. here i am commenting on a super old post…hope all is well with your procrastination..um i mean schoolwork.

I found it purely by accident as well and am so glad I did. I’ve made several of the little purses and have used them as gifts on so many occasions. I’ve experimented with sizing and colors. It would be nice to put my hands on some of the fabric used in the book but I’ve only used cotton so far.

i too stubbled across this book…i teach art and always try to incorpporate recyling in my workshops…this is a perfect fit, because these items are so small and can be altered to make any small hand made gift…i also disassemble clothing i no longer wear…especially those from the ’80’s…
