For Toronto folks, a couple of fun events coming up to be aware of.... This one is in my neck of the woods, a good reason to take a stroll on Queen East, or go for some brunch at one of the tasty places nearby: Saturday March 8th: Women's Day SALE & Fundraiser @ nathalie-roze & co. 1015 Queen St. East at Pape, Leslieville Everything in the store will be 10% off, including sale stock, for this one-day sale to benefit the Woodgreen Community Centre (a portion of sales will be donated to the Leslieville-based women's shelter). Save an extra 5%, if you bring toiletries & other essentials for the shelter. Suggested Donations: shampoo, toothpaste, pads & tampons, soap, hairbrushes, moisturizer, lip balm, new undies/socks/bras, etc. There will also be a fundraising raffle for the shelter (tickets $2) - enter to win one of several prize packs (including store gift certificates, beauty swag, crafting books, merchandise by in-house designers, etc.). Barnicke Gallery West wing at Hart House, University of Toronto Public participation with artists in attendance, Sunday, March 9 Reception: Sunday, March 9, 1 to 4 pm, Gallery Hours: 11 to 7pm, Sunday 1 to 4 pm Drop by during gallery hours until March 12 to listen to music, collaborate, and get your hands dirty. Materials are provided to you and you can bring your own to add to the mix if so inspired. Show & Tell Tuesday March 11, 5.30-7.30pm Justina M. Barnicke Gallery In conjunction with the Paul Butler Collage Party taking place from March 9 (opening 1-4) to March 12 at Hart House, UofT, Toronto Craft Alert, Susan Rowe Harrison & City of Craft present a Show & Tell on Tuesday March 11 from 5:30-7:30pm. The Show & Tell is a casual opportunity to come together to share what you've been working on and get a peek into others' craft practices. This will also be an chance to check out the Collage Party installation - show up early to make stuff!
