I have long been a fan of the new york public library online images collection, but I just recently realized how cool the vintage textiles section is. They have swatches from all kinds of old fabrics, dating back to the 1400s. Also an interesting selection of japanese and indian textiles. Very fun to look at, go to the browse page and select any of the categories that start with textiles.

Wow, why didn’t I know about this? I love vintage fabric and have been learning as much as I can about it over the past couple of years. Can’t wait to browse and possibly identify some of mine. Thanks for the great resource!
