In Vancouver, I happened upon a great bookstore (Sohpia Books at Hastings and Granville) with a whole bookshelf full of beautiful japanese craft books. I’ve been drooling over everyone else’s for so long, I could have bought about 50, but I managed to restrain myself to just one, which is really all I could afford. But I’m really happy with the one I chose.
I know I’ve seen it posted somewhere before (anyone know where?), but can’t seem to find it now, so I’ve just posted a few of my own photos for you to peek at. The book itself seems to be published in partnership with Clover, the quilting notions company, because there seems to be a lot of information about quilting tools, which I of course can’t read. Kind of a shame, it looks interesting, but the pictures are enough for me. You can take a closer look on flickr too….
I love this notions tray. I’ve had fabric boxes on my project list for ages…

Love the colors in these potholders….

Apron (similar to the one in the ds book, I think) and some kind of sleeve protectors? Awesome…

A lovely book. Don’t you just get so much joy from looking at these pictures? I find myself looking at each page for hours. So much inspiration there. Good choice.

Congratulations! You’ll never look back now.
Your new book is lovely. I really like that bag hanging next to the hat.
Can’t wait to see what you make from it.
