These are adorble! I am a huge pyrex fan as well, but most of what I find is from thrift stores and not nearly in as good condition as these.
On an unrelated note, I hate to be THAT person, but I read this blog from time to time and have noticed that you regularly use the word “gifted” incorrectly. It’s a pet peeve of mine. Gifted is a synonym for talented, not a synonym for gave.

I have long enjoyed your blog, and never commented, until now – I love, love, love those old pyrex bowls and also have managed to collect a small odd batch of them from garage sales and thrift stores. My lime green one doesn’t compare, though, to that gorgeous avocado. Thank you -in general-for all the inspiration (and lovely music)!

I, too, grew up with the famous Pyrex mixing bowl set. Several sets, if I remember correctly. Love them, and wish I had another full set (I own a yellow version of the smallest bowl — seems like every few years they would change the colors, and eventually they added little flower decals or other designs on the outside).

They are very pretty and in excellent condition. (The lack of a dishwasher, which you may have hated while growing up, has paid off in pristine, vividly colored vintage hand-me-down dishes.) Mom is generous to have gifted them to you, a suitably appreciative recipient.
P.S. Merriam-Webster says we may use gifted as a verb. It is interesting to see our wonderful language in transition. But please don’t switch borrow for loan when I’m around or you will see me cringe.
