Yesterday I went with my friend Vania (who takes me to all the best places) to the Creative Sewing and Needlework Festival, also called the Creative Crafting, Arts and Decor festival. We couldn’t really figure out why it had two names, but it was fun nonetheless. There were lots and lots of booths representing crafty shops from across Ontario. Lots of quilting, beads, yarn, sewing machines, soaps, all kinds of stuff. I had the most fun looking at the quilts and manhandling a lot of fancy yarns that I can’t afford. And I managed to find a few things to bring home of course.

And this giant roll of 60 yards of vintage German trim. I have no idea what I will do with so much trim (Ian didn’t seem to impressed with the idea of wallpapering the house with it) but it was such a deal that I couldn’t walk away from it!

There were also lots of workshops and demonstrations going on during the day I think, that seemed to be the real focus of the event, and lots of them looked like they might be interesting. The event was definately geared to a specific kind of crafting audience (there were also booths for calcium supplements and floor cleaning products) but it seemed like they were also trying to move in a younger, more diy audience as well. If you are in Toronto and want to check it out, it is open until Sunday.
