Last weekend was the first opportunity I’ve had to visit the new Frank Gehry designed Art Gallery of Ontario. The building is really lovely - it looks like a big glass canoe or something from the outside, and inside there’s lots of wood finishes and natural light and curly staircases. We hardly got through half the galleries in the few hours we were there too, so I think I’ll be going back again some time soon to do some more exploring. Well worth the somewhat pricey cost of admission if you’re in the area, or you could visit Wednesday evenings when it’s free.

Cool shots! This is pretty much the only area that they allow photographing. Kind of sad though as there are some really nice photo opportunities elsewhere in the AGO! I saw the King Tut exhibit which was amazing! Again, no photos allowed. This year, I splurged and got a membership which offers all kinds of perks, like free admission and discounts!

Awesome! I finally got to go to see the renovations on Valentine’s Day, and it was beautiful. Unfortunately, I got sick about an hour after arriving and my partner made me go home before our scheduled time to see the Tut exhibit. I’m hoping to get back before the exhibit closes.
