It must be that time of year, because I’ve got the urge to sort, purge, reorganize. My shelves of random fabric piles have been bothering me for awhile – they were all in messy stacks with no kind of logic or organization and although I know I have some good stuff in there I could never find anything that I wanted to use. Because I’ve bought a lot of it second hand or in bits and pieces, I doesn’t all stack nicely like cleanly cut yardage would, which makes it particularly liable to getting disorderly and disorganized as things tend to fall out and get shoved back in wherever they fit. So I spent a weekend afternoon recently pulling all of it out and organizing it by colour. The result is much more pleasing and looking through all of it gave me the urge to start all kinds of new projects with fabrics I forgot I had….

What happy stacks! My color palettes are much more subdued: yours are more spirit-lifting, especially on this late winter drizzly day in the Pacific NW.

Great idea, I’m planning a sort out when I finish painting my little room. You have some gorgeous fabrics, especially the brown with little flowers 4th photo, third from bottom left side, so sweet

I have my spring cleaning behind me. Amazing how many things you can find in the stashes of fabrics and old clothes. I am already planning what to do with them. Any advice on that?
