You should check out ‘The 150 Best Slow Cooker Recipes’ by Judith Finlayson. It’s got the not-so-usual slow cooker recipes, like korean-style short ribs, lamb korma, chicken enchiladas and several curry recipes.

I absolutely adore my slow cooker (I think my Mum bought it for me when I was about 19)! You can even cook things from frozen in them as long as you add a little water in the bottom and give them a bit of extra cooking time (I do this when I find pot roasts for a good price and then freeze them – then you don’t have to defrost)! Also when doing a roast, you can throw the potatoes in a few hours before the roast is supposed to done and they come out great!

I love my slow cooker, but I tend to use it more during the summer when it’s too hot to turn on the oven. (I live in Arizona.) I love this blog http://www.crockpot365.blogspot.com She used her slow cooker everyday last year and listed each recipe with her family’s opinion of it. It has pictures of ingredients and the finished recipe also.

Your chili looks delicious! I have been using a slow cooker for years for beans, chili, soups, and preserving. But this fall I just bought a fancy new 3-in-1 slow cooker which I love, love, LOVE!
In my opinion there are a lot of scary slow cooker recipes/cookbooks out there, but there are some great ones, too. I like Not Your Mother’s Slow Cooker Book and my new favorite is Slow Cooker: The Best Cookbook Ever. Both feature fresh ingredients, a variety of dishes inspired by world cuisines, and no canned cream of mushroom soup!
I’ve been adding quite a few slow cooker recipes to my blog–drop by and look around!

That looks absolutely delicious! And, yes, slow cookers are amazing little gadgets…especially because they’re so simple, so little (if anything) can go wrong with them, and even the worst cook can make excellent meals in them if they at least bother to find some recipes, since there’s little to no skill involved with most of them.
