I love these! I am kind of weirdly obsessed with old wool sweaters–diaper covers, hats, mittens, dolls, play food, toddler pants, brooches–there is no end to the awesomeness that comes from old wool sweaters!

What a coincidence! I was thinking of making my husband a pair of gloves from an old wool pullover or sweater but then realized that he gave all his old sweaters away to Goodwill. We ended up going to a major department store looking for winter gloves but for some reason, it was impossible to find any this time of year. Oh well, I guess he’s stuck wearing his old gloves this winter. Thanks for the tutorial, I’ll keep it in mind for a future project.

I recently purchased some wool sweaters at the thrift store and one of them was partially felted, so I felted it even further. I plan on using a polar fleece pattern to make some felted mittens from that old sweater. Great minds think alike, huh?
