I enjoyed my trip to Vancouver in large part thanks to Mirabilis’ list of what to do in Vancouver –found at http://www.mirabilis.ca/vancouver/

While my May vacation to Vancouver this year has been post-poned, I do plan on saving your list, as well. It’s a marvelous city and I loved EVERY minute! Thank you for the suggestions.

There’s an awesome ice cream shop with 218 flavors, unfortunately I don’t have the address.

I sprained my ankle and one of my teammates (I went there to dance) ran in and got a double-scoop for me, just requested the strangest combination I could think of….. wasabi and chocolate chip do taste good together, the wasabi isn’t hot at all, but isn’t very sweet either, providing a nice balance to the sweetness of the chocolate.

Oohhh.. this list makes me so homesick! I lived in Mount Pleasant until I forsook it for Edinburgh last summer. Not entirely sure I traded up. Actually, I know I didn’t. Sigh.

Country Beads – 4th and Maple (better prices than the bead store in granville island).

I ditto Casa Gelato (Venables Street by Clark).

Best sandwiches: Grotto de Fromagio just south of 1st at Commercial Drive.

Best deli: Santa Barbara (north of 1st and Commercial)

doh! i feel so bad that i missed this post because i have tons of recommendations, including the casa gelato close to my dear strathcona ‘hood that has over a hundred gelato flavours. and the foundation for a great dinner & beers!

definitely check out eugene choo, barefoot contessa, the reginal assembly of text, my orange bag, the block, dream, and the commercial drive neighbourhood.

The owner of Barefoot Contessa recently opened a second boutique on West Broadway called Lisette, which is beautiful and follows a slightly different aesthetic.

And for another fun boutique that stocks local Van. designers and those beyond, there’s Miss Coquette on West 10th.
